Social Value

Creating Lasting Positive Local Community Impact

At OnSite Support, we believe that everybody matters. It’s a founding principle of our business: that helping to look after staff across the construction industry is also about looking after people more generally, both inside and beyond our business.

For this reason, in 2022, OnSite Support launched our staff volunteering programme as part of our Building Better Strategy. By creating a company wide volunteering programme, we can further strengthen our ties to the communities in which we live and work, expose our employees to new experiences and skills, create a greater sense of meaning and providing purpose among our workforce – all while providing practical help and support to organisations for whom it can make all the difference.

For us volunteering is much more than just an opportunity to do good and social value is more than just volunteering.

Easter Egg Donations for Family First!

This week, OnSite Support Ltd were proud to help partner with VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd to donate Easter Eggs in support of the Family First Team - who support vulnerable families across Suffolk.

It's a small gesture that we hope brings a little brightness to local families this Easter. A big thank you to Darren Tunley and everyone on our team who pulled together to make it happen - this is what community is all about.

Supporting Galliford Try and Leeds Mencap

We’re pleased to have recently supported a fantastic project at Leeds Mencap, helping to provide decorating products for their latest Challenge initiative.

It’s incredibly rewarding to see how a simple contribution can help create a real and lasting impact within the community. The transformation achieved is a true reflection of collaboration, commitment, and shared purpose.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this possible, Galliford Try and Kirstie Murray MEPAA. Partnerships like these truly show what can be accomplished when we work together.

A small donation. A big difference.

OnSite Support Ltd provided PPE to Southern Renewals Enterprise to support their social value delivery — and it opened doors. Literally.

With the right kit in hand, students on placement were able to step foot on a live rail site for the first time, gaining real-world experience that no classroom can replicate.

"Your donation allowed the students to visit one of our sites, which made their placement so much more valuable!" — Lilia Frunzo, Southern Renewals Enterprise

Southern Renewals Enterprise is doing incredible work across the Southern Region — managing renewals across 3,300 miles of track, 544 stations and 4,986 bridges — all while actively investing in the next generation of rail professionals.

Safety & PPE Bootcamp at Suffolk New College

We were delighted to deliver a recent Safety & PPE Bootcamp with the current construction cohort at Suffolk New College , led by Darren Tunley

The session focused on key fundamentals that underpin every successful project:
✅ Correct selection and use of PPE
✅ Understanding diversity in construction and how inclusion strengthens safety culture
✅ The importance of speaking up and calling out hazards or unsafe situations

In construction, safety isn’t optional - it’s the standard. Creating environments where people feel confident to challenge unsafe practices is just as important as wearing the right protective equipment.

We are proud to support this cohort as they progress toward opportunities connected to Sizewell C . Building a skilled, safety-focused workforce is central to the project’s long-term legacy and the benefits it will bring to future generations.

We greatly value our ongoing partnership with Eastern Education Group . Their dedication to developing local talent and providing pathways into major regional projects is having a meaningful impact across the

Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Tuesday 30th September, our friends at VSL UK and BOUYGUES UK , together with their supporters, completed a 10 km walk in aid of Lennox Children's Cancer Fund – and we were proud to play our part by sponsoring the event T-shirts, with all logos printed and made up in-house by our team.

The walk, held during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, raised vital funds to provide financial, practical and emotional support, as well as respite breaks for families facing childhood cancer.

A special shout-out to our own Andrew O'Neill , who didn’t just help make it happen behind the scenes but also joined the walk itself 👏
For us at OnSite Support, this is Building Better in action - giving back and standing alongside our community.

It was inspiring to engage with young people who are passionate about sustainability and eager to understand how they can build careers that make a real difference.

Events like these are central to our Building Better commitments and particularly our focus on community engagement and empowering the next generation. When we invest time in our communities, we're not just sharing knowledge; we're helping to build a workforce. Thank you to Nina Hart and the Eastern Education Group for the invitation and for the important work you're doing.

Mental Health Awareness Week

We are proud that part of our participation in Mental Health Awareness Week included several charitable fundraising activities. Our Steps Challenge had colleagues competing for the most steps from Monday through Friday, with company donations per mile tracked. The team walked 140 miles, which surpassed our goal to walk the distance between our HQ in Crawley and our Leiston hub near Sizewell C.

We hosted drop-in sessions with our Mental Health First Aiders: providing a safe space for confidential conversations. Thank you to our MHFAs Kerwyn Berndt and Sarisha Ramsarup for making yourselves available and approachable not just on the day, but throughout the year.

A Sweepstake had everyone guessing cake flavours with a donation going to the Mental Health Foundation. And finally, Wear It Green Day – supporting mental health by wearing something green – the color of mental health awareness, with donations in support of the official charity.

Making Waves for Change at Sizewell Beach

On Thursday 5th June, our team joined forces with incredible local businesses and community partners for a beach clean initiative at the beautiful Sizewell Beach in Suffolk. Together with our co-sponsor TCI and local businesses, we rolled up our sleeves to protect this piece of precious coastal environment.

Stronger Together: This partnership proves that environmental action thrives through collaboration. When local companies unite with a shared purpose, amazing things happen.
Sustainability in Action: Every piece of litter removed is a step toward cleaner oceans and healthier wildlife habitats. Our collective effort today will benefit the Suffolk coast for years to come. Community at Heart: Sizewell Beach isn’t just a location—it’s part of Suffolk’s local heritage. By working together, we’re preserving this natural treasure for future generations to enjoy.

Thank you to all who made this initiative possible: Stalsen for donation of the gloves used by the volunteers and to the Sizewell Beach Cafe for hosting our event. This is what happens when businesses come together with purpose! The locals were very grateful for the efforts too!
